The minister of transportation can be said to be a man of word and action. Mr. Rotimi Amaechi early this morning took to his twitter page to announce the commencement of free Lagos-Ibadan Rail test ride. The ride will connect Lagos, Agege, Papalanto, Abeokuta, Kajola and Ibadan.
The Lagos-Ibadan Railway was inspected in October where the minister mandated and instructed the company handling the project to hurry up so that free test ride can commence before the Christmas and the New Year period.
The minister said the free ride will last for 4 months. According to his tweet,
Our free rides on the Lagos-Ibadan standard guage rail line will begin today and run through March, 2020. Commuters on that route can take advantage of it and save on transportation during the festive season & beyond. Let’s ride to the #NextLevel
It will be recalled that the minister of transportation was in China in October where he went to inspect the rails that will be used for the Lagos-Ibadan Rail. The first batch has already berth while the second batch is awaiting clearance.
