Toyota has unveiled the next-generation mobility solution, it is a Toyota Ultra-compact BEV. It’s a special concept vehicle designed to provide short-distance mobility while limiting impact on the environment.
Japan is experiencing “super-ageing” society both in the rural and urban area, in simple words, Japanese society is ageing rapidly. This concept vehicle offers a mobility solution to support Japan’s ageing society and provides freedom of movement to all people in all stages of life. Ultra-compact BEV not only provides greater autonomy, it also requires less space, less noise while limiting environmental impact.
A look at the Toyota Ultra-compact BEV shows that it is specifically designed to meet daily mobility needs of customers who usually make short-distance trips such as newly licensed drivers, elderly people, or business people visiting local customers. User can drive this vehicle at a range of 100km on a single charge, the vehicle can also reach a maximum speed of 60km/h with an extremely short turning radius.
Toyota plans to explore more opportunities for its compact, short-distance BEVs beyond individual mobility. This ultra-compact vehicle is suitable to create safe, unrestricted, eco-friendly transportation in both urban or mountainous communities. It is possible to use this vehicle to serve as a mobile office with three modes to support travelling, working, or taking breaks.
