Just as Lagos State is trying to rid the city of traffic menace by the recent ban of Okada and Keke Napep, Oyo State seems to be the destination for the outlawed riders. For over a week now, reports from Oyo State indicates that there is an upsurge in traffic in the metropolis of Ibadan.
The Oyo State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Raphael Afonja in the company of State Law-Enforcement Agencies were at some major Interchanges in the State Capital, Ibadan, to monitor and enforce traffic rules in the State. The exercise took place at major interchanges and these include:
- Agodi-Gate/Bus Stop;
- Mokola roundabout;
- Eleyele roundabout; and
- Dugbe roundabout.
The exercise was necessary to ensure a free flow of traffic and movement of cars.
