President Muhammadu Buhari was the special guest of honour in Ondo State on Tuesday as he commissioned the first flyover in Ondo State.
The president who was received into Ondo state for the commissioning of Ore Flyover Interchange and the Ondo-Linyil Industrial hub at the international airport in Akure.
Joining the host Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, to receive the President are the Governors of Ekiti, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Ogun, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Edo Godwin Obasekin and other dignitaries from within and outside the state including; deputy governor of the state, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, minister for Industry, Trade & Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, minister of state for Niger Delta, Senator Tayo Alasoadura and others.
The flyover bridge is the first in the history of the state. It is specifically located along the Ore Interchange on the Shagamu–Ore–Benin Expressway in Ondo State.
President Buhari while commissioning said the Ore Flyover Interchange is important because it will boost economic activities in Ondo State, ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents.
Buhari described Akeredolu’s achievements as remarkable, saying that the hub would bring a positive impact on the people.
He said that the governor sold the idea to him when it was conceived, and expressed happiness that through hard work, dedication and commitment, the idea had become a reality.
He said that the Federal Government would meet its obligations to the state on the building of the interchange flyover.
The President said that the redesigning and construction of the road to accommodate the flyover was long overdue as a result of the growing population in Ore.
