COVID -19: Mercedes Benz Collaborates With LAWMA Donates, Axor Truck (Photos)

In the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, Mercedes Benz, a frontline automobile manufacturer, donated a truck to Lagos State Government to aid the management of waste at the Lagos House, Marina.

The truck, an AXOR 1823 Roll on Roll off-model, designed to lift 12m3 bin with an actual design capacity of 18 Tons and a device that key waste bins on the accrestor.

Receiving the truck on behalf of the incident commander, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, LAWMA MD, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, commended Mercedes Benz for this gesture which will no doubt enhance evacuation of waste and its management, boost its operational capacity and impacted positively in waste disposal, especially at this period of the fight against coronavirus.

He enjoined other private sector organizations and conglomerates to emulate this outstanding feat of Mercedes Benz, in contributing not only to waste management, but other laudable programmes and projects embarked upon by the administration of Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Head of Sales, Mercedes Benz, Mr. Umoh Ekanem while reacting, said that the organization is proud to be associated with LAWMA and hope to contribute more in order to assist the Authority in the enormous job of waste management, which according to him, is the collective responsibility of everyone.

He said Mercedes Benz acknowledged the great work that LAWMA is doing in ensuring that Lagos is rid of waste, affirming that the streets of Lagos is now cleaner than it was.
