Lagosians Defy Lockdown, Heavy Traffic Spotted On Third Mainland Bridge
Lagos, the city of aquatic splendor is a city that never sleeps. Lagos is the commercial nerve of the country and also the business hub of many multinational companies among others.
Lagos State is the epicenter of the COVID-19 in Nigeria with a reported case almost totaling 376, Lagos is the worst hit of the pandemic in Nigeria.
Ever since the lockdown started in 3 major states in Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun, Lagosians have been subjected to the Stay Home, Save Lives policies. The State has been on total lockdown but Lagosians woke up on Monday morning to see pictures on the traffic on the 3rd Mainland bridge.
Despite the lockdown, some roads still experience heavy vehicular movement. Earlier today, an On-Air-Personality with Metro FM, Oloruntobi Adejare, posted photos of traffic gridlock on the Third-Mainland Bridge.
This is happening despite repeated caution by the government for residents to refrain from contravening the lockdown instruction except those that fall into the essential categories.
This comes a day after NCDC announced that 70 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Lagos State bringing the national number to 627.
