Moscow-based Ziller’s Garage has unveiled a steampunk, mad max-like custom-made BMW R9T Motorrad. The one-off motorcycle takes BMW’s new R18 cruiser and redesigns the outer body without touching the internal build. This redesign features a shell made entirely from fabricated aluminium parts.
The Moscow-based design studio decided to modify the suspension setup to lower the bike to come within an inch of the ground and reduce the seat height. The bike has also has been fitted with a handmade exhaust system and Brembo brakes.
For the BMW R9T, Zillers Garage has enclosed its elements inside the new aluminum body. From the headlight to the tail-light, everything flows through the metal-finished mass that results in a somewhat post-apocalyptic aesthetic.
The intimidating HID lamp has been placed at the front while a taillight has been mounted on a sliding rear that also serves as the opening access to the bike’s electric controls. The dashboard has been integrated into the fuel tank in a seamless but visible way. overall, the new robust body gives the BMW R9T bike volume and a strong presence. for those interested, the bike is only made to order.
It’s not yet known if the futuristic-looking cafe racer is just an exhibition motorcycle or if Zillers Garage will offer it for sale. Fingers crossed we’ll see it manifest in metal.
