Men of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency in Ogun State intercept a truck loaded with goods and 30 persons suspected to be Almajirai from the Northern part of Nigeria trying to gain entrance into the State.
Operatives of TRACE, on Monday, intercepted an IVECO truck loaded with 30 youths from the northern states, also known as Almajeri.
The discovered Almajeris hide under bags of peppers in the apprehended trailer from North but was turned back at Sango Ota by the TRACE Officials.
The truck marked Kano XG172 KNG was covered with a black tarpaulin was primarily meant to be carrying goods which are part of the essentials that were allowed passage but was intercepted at Joju area of Sango in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The TRACE operatives on sighting the truck flagged it down, told the driver to park and untie the tarpaulin for inspection but were surprised when they saw that the Almajarais were packed together with pepper that is meant for consumption. The almajarais numbering 30 were packed together alongside the goods.
The truck was turned back and led to tollgate from where they said they came in.
