Kenyan Mechanic Transforms An Old, Abandoned Ford Escort MK1 Car Into A Masterpiece (PHOTOS)

It’s often being said that Africa is a land of creativity and where talent knows no bound.

A Kenyan auto mechanic who is known as The Mech on social media transformed an old rickety car Ford Escort MK1 into what can be called a masterpiece.

The mechanic who has his garage in Nakuru did a major transformation on an old Ford Escort MK1 from Mogotio. He turned it to a project car and did a total makeover from scratch to give it a new look.

According to him, the abandoned car has been left unused and its fast decomposing before he picked it up and did a major transformation on the car. Part of what was done was the mounting of the Unit on a land cruiser chassis, also, the engine was also upgraded to turbo diesel.

Prior to mounting it on the land cruiser chassis, the whole interior has been refurbished all within a time frame of three months to have this amazing and unique new look.

The Ford Escort is a small family car which was manufactured by Ford Europe from 1968 to 2004. The Ford Escort name was also applied to several small car types produced in North America by Ford between 1981 and 2004.

In 2014, Ford revived the Escort name for a car based on the second-generation Ford Focus sold on the Chinese market.

The Escort was frequently the best selling car in Britain during the 1980s and 1990s. A total of more than 4.1 million Escorts of all generations were sold there over a period of 33 years.
