The Ogun State Government, through its Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, has commenced the scarification of existing damaged asphalt on the service roads along Kuto Bridge which is being constructed in Abeokuta, the State Capital.

The exercise is being extended to the connecting road between the bridge and the NNPC flyover which is already in use.

This is towards the preparation for the laying of new median kerbs, subbase laterite course, stone base course, spraying of MC1, and asphalt laying binder course.

This is targeted towards linking the two asphalted bridges, with the intention to ease the traffic logjam characteristic with the popular Kuto Junction, as occasioned by its proximity to Kuto Market and the daily inflow of vehicles from neighbouring towns.

Engineers are also conducting earthwork operations on the slip road beside Kuto Road, preparing it for subsequent works.
The Government has disclosed that it is being guided by the continuum principle, which ultimately delivers projects of this type for better living conditions.

The road and bridge, on completion, will strengthen commerce by easing access to border towns, while making improved security more deliverable.
