At 6:35 pm on Sunday, February 14 the agency’s response team and fire unit were activated to a fire outbreak at Iddo Terminal, Lagos Island.
On arrival of the team, it was discovered that the fire outbreak resulted from a power surge in a shanty building, spreading to a warehouse containing items like torchlights, batteries, lighters and other combustibles at the terminal.
The fire which was put off on Monday morning by multiple responders to curtail the fire from spreading to buildings nearby completely put it out. Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries has been recorded.
LRT, LRU Fire, Lagos State Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, Julius Berger Fire Unit, and the Nigeria Police Force are the responders at the incident scene.
The fire has been contained; however, the operation is still ongoing to completely put out the fire.
