President Muhammadu Buhari along with the vice president, prof Yemi Osinbajo, the senate president, the speaker, and other key top security chiefs participates in the Wreath Laying Ceremony of the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration at the National Arcade, Eagle Square Abuja which held on Sunday.
The President, who also performed the symbolic freeing of white doves out of the cage during the event, had the 2023 wreath-laying ceremony as his last as Commander-in-Chief.
At the ceremony which takes place at the National Arcade in the Three Arms Zone, the President led other top government officials to lay the wreath at the final Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration before the collapse of his administration on May 29.
After arriving at the National Arcade, Abuja, at 10:05 am, Buhari was immediately ushered onto the saluting dais for the National Salute. He also inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by detachments of the Nigerian Army, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Nigerian Legion.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola; Service Chiefs; Members of the cabinet, Diplomatic Corp among other top dignitaries also lay the wreath.
Others who laid wreaths included the Ministers of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd); Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Muhammed Musa Bello; the Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor and the service chiefs and as well as the Inspector-General General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba; representatives of members of the Diplomatic Corps; and the pair of the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion and a widow of a fallen officer.

Also in attendance were members of the Federal Executive Council, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno and Permanent Secretaries amongst others.
