The Lagos State has released an aerial view video of the ongoing Lagos-Badagry Expressway. The road which connects places like Mile 2, Orile, Trade Fair, Alaba International has been the centre of outcry for months due to the bad nature of that road especially when it rains.
It will be recalled that in October, the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu declared a state of emergency on all Lagos roads where they highlighted some major roads that demand urgent attention, the Lagos-Badagry Expressway was among the key road that the state government took interest on.
The construction which started in October has its starting point from Orile bridge to Eric Moore, Mile 2 and another axis. Looking at the video, a lot still needs to be done in terms of construction but so far, they are advancing in bits.
According to the up to date reports on the site, after a tedious time at the Trade Fair axis of the Lagos Badagry Expressway, CCECC has been able to tackle the flooding at the location, also the service lane at Abule Osun under bridge to Barracks have been finally open for use immediately thereby reducing the traffic at barracks. Meanwhile, the launching of beams at Suuru Alaba interchange has began, likewise pulling work in also ongoing at Alakija Festac interchange to round up these bridges. People are advised to make good use of these facilities as buying and selling on the road is now the order of the day thereby causing traffic on this axis as it can be seen on the pictures below.
