The ongoing construction of Apapa-Oshodi Express Road should be a case study of how roads ought to be built in Nigeria especially in areas that are prone to high volume cars like Lagos. The road which was speared by a joint partnership between the federal ministry of works and Dangote Group.

It will be recalled that the reconstruction of Apapa-Oshodi Expressway was started by Dangote Group, under the Road Infrastructure Development & Refurbishment Investment Tax Credit Scheme aka Executive Order 007 signed by Pres. Buhari in January 2019 (Dangote awarded the contract to Hitech). The road construction is said to take 24 months to finish.

In December 2019, Dangote during the inspection of these roads said, when finished, the Apapa-Oshodi Express Road will be one of the best roads in the whole of Africa.

A closer look at the road indicates that the road was done with a re-enforced concert, what this means is that the road was made with iron rods, concrete and lots of cement, the type one uses when doing the foundation of a storey building.
