Malami Test Drives Nigeria’s Locally Assembled Electric Car In Abuja (PHOTOS)

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mallam Abubakar Malami, SAN, Assures NADDC Of His Office’s Support on Policies towards Mass Production Of Electric Vehicles in Nigeria.

The AGF also expressed his satisfaction with the achievements of Jelani Aliyu, MFR, as the Director-General of the NADDC, AutoReportNG reports.

Speaking shortly after receiving the DG in Abuja, Malami said he is aware of the ongoing projects and policies of the Council around the country and notably the unveiling of the first Nigerian Assembled Electric Vehicle, the Hyundai Kona EV.

He expressed it as a welcome development because it is environment friendly, taking into consideration the global standards towards reduction of environmental pollution. He test drove the Electric Vehicle and was very impressed with its performance, he added that it is a good technology that should be embraced by the government.

Malami also pointed out the opportunity for petrol stations to invest in EV Charging Stations. He assured the DG of the Office of the Attorney General’s partnership and support in regards to the necessary Policies and the Legislative and Legal Framework needed to facilitate the mass production of Electric Vehicles in the country.
