Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun on Monday commissioned two of the isolations centres in Ikenne and Sagamu respectively, (the third being in Iberekodo, Abeokuta) in Ogun State towards further containing the spread of COVID-19 within the State.
The purpose-built facilities are of 21-bed (Sagamu), 100-bed (Iberekodo) and 128-bed (Ikenne) capacities, respectively.
The governor also disclosed that the restriction order from the Presidency on internal movements of goods and persons within Ogun State (Lagos and FCT Abuja) will take effect from Friday, 3rd April 2020.
This is a result of talks with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E, Muhammadu Buhari to allow the people to make use of the time between now and then prepare for the lockdown.
The presidential order, however, implies that the interstate and international border closure now takes effect from 11 pm today, March 30.
