It’s no news that the presidency has given directives to trailers and tankers plying the Apapa port area to vacate immediately. According to the directive, they have less than 72hours to comply and an order has been given to the Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police, The Army, and Lagos State Government to see to it that the port and all its extensions are rid off tankers and trailers in 14 days.
As much as the people are happy with with the directive and applauded the presidency for finally taken the bold steps to rid Lagos of this menace, many have been asking where these tankers will go. It’s one thing to give a directive and its another thing to provide a solution that won’t make them to go back to this spot again.
Many do not know that the federal government has already began constructing some trucks park around Tin Can close to the port. AutoReportNG got some exclusives image from the company handling the marking project of this park.
The project is the 350 capacity new Apapa Tin Can Truck Park in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Power Works and Housing and Borini Prono. The federal government uses the Tektron Engineering for the truck park demarcation, directional symbols, and numbering.
These are exclusive images of the park… Images courtesy of Tektron Engineering.
