Kebbi State Government had devoted Four Hundred and Eighty (480M) Million Naira as support funds to encourage initiative and innovative talent development among the youth in the state.
This is in addition to the Twenty Million Naira (20M) already earmarked for the objective, being handled by the State Deputy Governor, Col. Sama’ila Yombe Dabai to engineering and technical inventions as demonstrated by a youth from Aliero Local Government.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari says, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu announced this at the first Kebbi Youth Mentorship lecture and talent harvest held at the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi this Thursday.
The Governor affirmed that his administration would sustain support to innovation and inventions towards the technological progress and economic prosperity of Kebbi state.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu advised youth to take up the challenge of being innovative in the various field of endeavour not only to support themselves but, also to contribute to the development of the society.
He told them to regard the Director-General of the Nigerian Automotive Designed and Development Council, Mallam Jelani Aliyu Dogondaji as the role model, who has received international recognition as a professional and excellent automobile designer of the best talent.
The guest speaker, the Director General Nigerian Automotive designed and development council Malam Jelani Aliyu, MFR reviewed his progression from secondary to university to polytechnic leading to his graduation saying that, his major passion has been automotive designed which he pursue vigorously with success.
Malam Jelani Aliyu said he made it’s a personal policy to think ahead for his choosing endeavour which he did excellently, that led to his progression in automotive designed acknowledge globally.
He expressed confidence that, Nigeria has a bright future ahead and advised government at all levels to give the necessary support and opportunity to young men and women to develop their talent in their respective fields of endeavour.
He also advised teachers to identify the flair of pupils and students and give them the necessary support and encouragement to become professionals, where their talent is best.
