We Have Been Able To Empower Over 1,000 Persons – Lady Mechanic Initiative

Founder of the Lady Mechanic initiative, Sandra Aguebor has revealed that her outfit has trained over 1,000 persons in five different states.

The arrangement is an empowerment scheme also in line with the Edo State Government’s vision of wealth creation through skills acquisition.

The workshop, located within the Edo State Government House, Benin City, also caters to all the state government’s vehicles in the areas of maintenance, repairs and refurbishment.

Governor Godwin Obaseki who spoke to Channels Television on the initiative, noted that it is aimed at helping the youth earn a living for themselves at home rather than having to travel out of the country.

“We are focusing on education, strengthening the educational system, in the areas where people are more prone to issues of trafficking but more importantly to create opportunities for people, boy and girls so they don’t have a need to travel and they can make as much money at home and this is one of the examples.”
