Ever since the minister of transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi gave the CCECC ultimatum to finish up on the Lagos-Ibadan Railway axis especially the Lagos zone, the company and the workers have been working round the clock to make sure they deliver before November 30th.
It will be recalled that the Lagos State Government has been working with both the federal government and CCECC in making sure that they work unhindered, for example, the Lagos LASTMA has to divert road movement on several occasions to make sure that those constructing and clearing the railway tracks do that unhindered.
The CCECC has moved from Agege and are now at Lagos most congested areas, areas like Oshodi, Palm-Grove, Yaba, Ebute-Metta are mostly congested, this is due to the fact these areas are where petty traders sell their wares and are closer to residential areas. Oshodi, for example, is strategic due to the fact that it links Lagos and Ogun State.
