Desperate times they say call for desperate measures. Ever since the Lagos State Government banned the activities of Okada and Keke Napep riders in some parts of the state, life has not been the same again. Lagosians now trek to cover a larger distance, fares have gone up rapidly and people have been stranded at the bus stations.
Trust Nigerians to always come with a solution no matter how dicey the situation may look like. AutoReportNG observed some funny but creative ways Lagosians have been using to cope with the recent in the state.
Bicycles
A twitter user gave some pictures of a man who he claimed to board the ferry with his bicycle. According to him, he tweets, So I boarded a ferry from Ikorodu to Falomo Ikoyi and when we alighted, I just realized that this man took his bicycle with us on the ferry and now he’s gonna ride bicycle to his office.
Horse/O’Horse
Another funny way Lagosians aide themselves is through the horses. Horses are not restricted or banned by the state government, this we thought made someone think fast to make some quick money off the situation. A twitter user while narrating what he saw wrote, O’Horse is now available, Eko Hotel to Ajah. N3000.
Trekking/OTrek/OTrike
Just as the popular musician Timaya sang, I can’t kill myself. After waiting endlessly at various bus stops, Lagosians have to take to walking or trekking as some people called it. Trekking can be seen virtually in all roads, for example, someone writes he has to trek from CMS to Falomo in Ikoyi as he can’t see buses, the buses available have triple their fare. Falomo to CMS used to be N100, now they charged N300-500. People have no choice than to trek a long distance.
