Oyo State Approves Construction Of Four Ultra Modern Bus Terminals
The Oyo State Executive Council approved the award for the contract of the construction of four ultra-modern bus terminals at Iwo road, Challenge, New Ife Road and Ojoo in Ibadan.
The Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport; Prof. Raphael Afonja during the announcement, stated that affected shop owners who will be affected by the demolitions at the different locations would be considered for shop allocation after the completion of the new terminal.
The Ultra-Modern bus terminal would incorporate Restaurants, Shops, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) galleries, Cafè, among others.
The bus terminal is expected to address transportation and security issue in Ibadan.
Also, the Oyo State Government has upgraded the fire department to an agency so as to serve the state more in its bid to prevent and contain fire incidents.
