The Agege Pen Cinema Flyover is one those living around Agege, Ogba, Pen Cinema area can’t wait to see its completion. The bridge which was initiated by the former governor of Lagos, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode was scheduled to have been completed in 2019 but due to circumstances and government issues, the project was delayed and halted.

In 2019 when Gov Sanwo-Olu resumed office, he promised that the flyover will be completed in no time. Sanwo-Olu who visited the site to access work done around the area assured the residents that the government will do all within its capacity to make sure the flyover was completed on time.
The Agege Pen Cinema Bridge is said to be at 60 per cent completion stage, the bridge took off from Oba Ogunji Road and drops at Oke Koto axis of Agege. The third abutment of the bridge extends to old Abeokuta Highway into Abule Egba.
The total length of the bridge is 1.4 kilometres and it is expected to have streetlight facilities and pedestrian walkways.
However, in May, The Lagos State government has said the Agege-Pen Cinema would be completed in September 2020. This is away from the earlier June 2020 announced by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructures, Engr. Aramide Adeyoye reiterated the government’s at the Year 2020 ministerial press briefing to celebrate the first year anniversary of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration.
Adeyoye noted that one of the major projects inherited by the administration that would be completed is the Agege Pen-Cinema flyover bridge which was designed to reduce travel time for residents of Ifako-Ijaiye, Agege and Alimosho Local Government would be completed in September 2020.
