The Apapa- Oshodi- Oworonshoki Expressway has in works for some months now, the 35-kilometer expressway which links Apapa Tincan port, Oshodi, Ojota and Apapa road in Wharf was embarked on by Dangote group in 2018.
The road which was a joint collaboration between Dangote Group and the federal government of Nigeria. It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari flagged off the N73 billion project in November 2018 to address gridlock on the axis, promising to deliver it in two years.
Apapa Oworonshoki Expressway is a major expressway connecting Apapa to Somolu via Surulere and Mushin in Lagos. For most of its portion, it is a four-lane expressway with two one-way service roads parallel to the expressway. The expressway crosses other major expressways such as Lagos-Badagry Expressway and Ikorodu Road. It also passes Tin Can Island, and its starting point borders the Port of Lagos.

The work began in 2018, as part of a bargain between the company and the Federal Government to enjoy a 10-year tax rebate that accrues to N72.9 Billion. The road has been a subject to heavy traffic flow. An initial attempt to work on the road fell apart, it was approved for N15 Billion in 2013, work on the road stopped after the 2015 general elections.
It is expected that by November 2020, the entire road network will be finished and the road network is expected to last about 40 years.
