Despite the warnings by the state government and NNPC, some people are still bent on spoiling and vandalising assets belonging to the government in a bid to make quick money.
Safe for the timely intervention of the LASEMA team in Lagos, there would have been a major fire outbreak in Igando, Lagos.
According to reports, vandals damaged NNPC pipeline and the vandals connected the pipeline to a tanker, the people around called the LASEMA crew who came to disperse these hoodlums.
Upon the arrival of the Dolphin Squad (LASEMA) in Igando, at the incident scene, it was observed that an NNPC Pipeline was vandalized.
The vandals connected the pipeline to a Mack tanker with registration number FKJ14XX. Further investigation revealed that the vandalization must have taken place in the midnight and early hours of today, Friday, 25th September 2020.
Fortunately, no injuries nor mortality recorded at the scene. However, the entire area is enveloped with the smell of petrol.
Responders at the scene are LASEMA, Lagos State Fire Service, Nigeria Police Force (Ikotun and Shasha Division), NSCDC, Anti-Robbery Squad and LNSC (Ikotun).
The team currently awaits NNPC Maintenance Team. Operations are ongoing.
