Innoson Manufacturing Company has unveiled two plants and an Automated Robotic Spraying Booth in Nnewi Anambra state.
The plants include the Innoson Small/Mini Bus Plant for manufacturing 1.5-liter engine capacity 7-seater and 10-seater buses and the Innocent Connect/Caris Plant for the production of sedan cars branded Innoson Connect and Innocent Caris.
According to Mr. Cornel Osigwe, Head of Corporate Communications and Affairs of the Innoson Group, these plants have the combined capacity to produce 32,000 vehicles per year and would employ about 1,000 Nigerians.
Osigwe added that the Automated Robotic Spraying Booth is the first of its kind in the whole country and is made to paint vehicles with elegance and at high speed.
These plants and the automated spraying booth were financed by the Bank of Industry to the tune of N4.6 billion, ably supported by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC).
While commissioning these plants and the robotic booth, the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, congratulated Innoson founder, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, and thanked him for helping to improve the economy via creating jobs for youths. She assured manufacturers of continued government support.
Innoson Group founder and chairman, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, OFR, in his address, commended the efforts of the Federal Government for “their unflinching support and dogged determination to ensure that our investments survive the vagaries of our economic downturn.”
The Chairman added thus: “I make bold to say that the industrialization of the country, through deliberate policies of government is key.”
