The victims identified as women were reported to be on a motorcycle when the fatal accident occurred.

The spokesperson for Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident.

Akinbiyi explained that the accident occurred around 8am on Saturday.

He said the truck marked FST 984 XX had a brake failure, lost control and hit the moving motorcycle with no number plate, killing the victims in the process.

Akinbiyi said, “The truck and the motorcycle were both on the outbound lane from Lagos when the crash happened due to a brake failure on the part of the truck driver. The truck and the motorcycle are with the police at the Redeemed Police Station with the driver of the truck.”

He explained that the rider of the motorcycle was nowhere to be found after the accident.

He added, “The remains of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH, Sagamu.”
